Fight Classics: Samkor vs Kobayashi

Many ‘superfights’ don’t live up to the hype. When one top-level fighter clashes with another, they often don’t get to show their skills as much since they cancel one another out. When legendary Thai fighter Samkor Kiatmontep fought Japanese superstar Satoshi Kobayashi, however, it was a brilliant display of skill and courage from both fighters. Kobayashi was famous for his combinations and having one-punch knockout power in both hands. Samkor was known for his devastating kicks and knees from the southpaw stance, which were a key factor early in the fight as he cut off Kobayashi’s ability to let his hands go by constantly battering his defenses, landing 12 left power kicks at body level in the first minute of the fight alone. Kobayashi wouldn’t be defeated that easily though… watch the whole fight to see what happened!
